The Deco is a magnificently restored 1930's cinema. The building started its life in 1936 as 'The Savoy' and has been renovated on numerous previous occasions but recently by MJM (Painters & Decorators) Ltd alongside Deejak Builders as the principal contractor. The duration of the project was taken out under the guidance of English Heritage which in turn has created a stunning venue for the 21st century.

It offers a superb venue for corporate, social and theatrical events and comprises a 900 seat, 7250 sq ft auditorium along with two further conference suites comprising 3,900 sq ft. All decorated in high spec paints such as Classidur.

The John Radcliffe Hospital seems to have been an annual project for the past 6 years. MJM have completed 5 seperate projects for BAM Construction over those years, ranging from the Education Centre, the Geratology Ward, the Cardiac Centre and the most recent a reconfiguration project of existing wards.

The Cardiac Centre is a new build 5 story building consisting of a 90 bed unit plus 5 catheter laboratories and facilities for cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery.

The projects were consistent in their materials, using Dulux Trade Diamond Matt alongside Dulux Trade Sterishield Matt which boasts an in-film bactericide which inhibits bacteria.

The Grace Academy in Coventry is a three-storey 300 room complex consisting of an integral sports hall and lecture theatre.

It houses a large office styled atrium at the main entrance as shown in the pictures below.

Low cost was of high importance to the decoration throughout the project and was specified between BAM and MJM accordingly. Crown Trade Covermatt was predominant on the exposed concrete soffits throughout as well as Crown Trade Vinyl Matt to teaching spaces and Vinyl Silk to technical teaching spaces and areas expecting high volumes of traffic.

Muraspec MemErase was also installed in 70 of the classrooms by MJM which enables the Academy to use the installed product exactly the same way as a white board would be used.

The Lower Mounts Campus at Northampton College is part of the Northampton College Redevelopment Programme in the centre of Northampton. The building consists of a vast 4 storey re-inforced concrete frame structure complete with specialist hair and beauty teaching facilities, specialist IT facilitites and a beautifully presented restaurant and cafeteria space.

The decoration of the build was once again highly specified using Dulux Trade Diamond Eggshell and Dulux Trade Satinwood throughout. The pictures below show the impressive decoration within the campus.

Unit 1, Winterhill Retail Park was successfully converted from a 'run-down' unit which had recently been struck my arsonists to a beautifully decorated Dunelm Mill.

New installed steel frames were decorated externally while internally hundreds of existing black steel lengths were shot-blasted by ourselves followed by a generous coating of Zinc Phosphate Primer, a solid Undercoat and finished to a high standard with Dulux Trade Dryfall Eggshell by way of our personal Graco Spray Machine.

MJM are proud to be the preferred decorating subcontractor on such a prestigious project. It feels quite fitting that our largest contract to date is part of such a historical organisation in The Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity.

The project will span over an 18 month period and comprises an extremely eco-friendly paint specification along with the newly developed decorating technologies in bacteria fighting Silver Ions. It plans to become the UK's 'greenest' medical buliding.

The hospital is set over 9 floors and is due for completion in December 2011.

Quite possibly one of MJM's most remarkable projects. A new build project set over a vast 7 floors, including 39 extraordinary new galleries including Oxford's first rooftop restaurant.

An extremely high spec building comprising high spec paints including RIW, Dulux Diamond Matt, Dulux Diamond Eggshell, Watco Flowtop, Watco Safety Coat and Flowcrete.

A gallery on the 6th floor is dedicated to the workforce responsible for making the Ashmolean Museum look the way it does today. MJM (Painters & Decorators) Ltd are proud to have their name embedded into the historical buildings substrate.

Westwood Care Home was carried out as part of a existing and new build structure.

The new build consisted of highly specified products from the OSMO range while the exisiting building stayed true to its history and decided on a more traditional route using colours from Dulux's Heritage range.
